Jake’s Canine Adventures

Jake’s Canine Adventures is a professional pet care service.  We offer reliable services 365 days a year.

Jake’s Canine Adventures was created out of the love for my heart dog, Jake and my passion to care for animals.

I have a bonded pair of senior dachsaunds Dan (12 years old) and Rosie (13 years old), Chloe (a 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier) and Lucy (a 5 year old pug mix).

Jennifer (Owner) of Jake’s Canine Adventures, has been a resident of Crofton for over 20 years.  She recently left the legal field after a long successful career, to follow her passion, working and caring for animals.
She formed Jake’s Canine Adventures after her heart dog, Jake. Jennifer adopted Jake when he was 8 weeks old and they were inseparable. When Jake had surgery to correct a disc issue and was given a diagnosis of being a lap dog for the rest of his life. Jennifer did not take this diagnosis lightly. She immediately started Jake on acupuncture after discharge from the hospital, she also did massage, physical therapy and she found a new alternative technique, Healing Touch for Animals™. After seven weeks of not being able to walk, one Saturday afternoon, he started walking again.

A few years later, one day Jennifer noticed his coughing was not something normal for him. She took him to the emergency room and was informed he was in congestive heart failure. Again, she continued acupuncture and Healing Touch for Animals, took him to his cardiology appointments, gave him the medications and fed him the recommended prescription diet. At the time of his diagnosis, she was given 13-months of life expectancy. She got 20-months with Jake. Sadly, Jake passed away with Jennifer holding him on April 22, 2018, at the age of 15.

Her current pack is a bonded pair of adopted senior dachshunds, Dan (12 years old) and Rosie (13 years old), Chloe (a 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier) and Lucy (a 5-year-old pug mix).

Jennifer has spent the last 4-5 years studying animal behavior and learning positive reinforcement dog training. She has earned her Level 4 Healing Touch for Animals Practitioner and is an Authorized Pet CPR & First Aid Training Instructor through Dog safe. Jennifer is currently working on her Veterinarian Technician License.
